FOUNDATIONS: THE STARTING POINT
As we collectively gather to kick off these creative workshops, the groups will be split into your chosen track: the Artist Track and the Musician Track.
Here, our art and music instructors will be covering the fundamental basics of theory and foundational techniques necessary to master your craft and forge quickly ahead. Follow below to see what opportunities lie ahead!
ARTIST TRACK | MUSICIAN TRACK
Frank Ordaz | Ryan Moon | Cathy Gallatin | Mera Oliveria | Jennifer Garrett
For the first day and 1/2, Mon (17) - Tues (18), students following the Artist Track will be gathered together for teaching on the fundamentals of strong drawing skills, which are essential to all skilled painting. This will include instruction from Frank Ordaz and Ryan Moon covering principles of design/composition, values, light source, technical elements of art, as well as color theory. Here also, we will touch on digital art/drawing with Jennifer Garrett.
This time will include hands-on exercises to immediately put skills into practice. This basic teaching of the fundamentals will provide students with a strong foundation on which to build, develop, and master other specialized skills coming in later sessions.
Then finish the week in your specific area of study with Frank Ordaz, Ryan Moon or the mural/chalk art track with Cathy Gallatin and Mera Oliveria.
